Agreement to Terms
By downloading or using Offlimit ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of the App and serve as the end-user license agreement between you and us. "We," "us," and "our" refer to Hrdlicka Apps, Iowa, United States. "You" refers to the person using the App. These Terms are concluded between you and Hrdlicka Apps only, and not with Apple. Apple is not a party to these Terms.
What Offlimit Does
Offlimit is a self-monitoring tool built on Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity) that helps you set daily and weekend time limits on apps you choose, track streaks of staying within those limits, and optionally use freeze tokens, day-offs, logged overrides, or wagers as part of that process.
Offlimit is designed for you to manage your own device and habits. It is not a parental-control, employee-monitoring, or covert surveillance product, and you agree not to use it to monitor or restrict another person's device without that person's knowledge and consent.
License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. That license extends to other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing, where Apple makes Family Sharing available for the App or an in-app purchase. You may not transfer or sublicense the App or your license to it.
Screen Time Permission
Core features of the App require you to grant Screen Time authorization through Apple's system prompts. If you decline or later revoke this permission in iOS Settings, the App's limit-tracking and shielding features will not function. We are not responsible for functionality that depends on system permissions you have not granted, or for changes Apple makes to the underlying Family Controls, Managed Settings, or Device Activity frameworks that affect how the App behaves.
Use of the App
Offlimit is for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or its extensions.
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems.
- Use the App to monitor or restrict another person's device without their knowledge and consent.
- Attempt to exploit bugs or glitches to manipulate streaks, freeze tokens, wagers, override counts, or other tracked records.
- Circumvent, tamper with, or attempt to defeat the purchase verification for Offlimit Pro, or use the paid features without having purchased them.
Offlimit Pro — One-Time In-App Purchase
The App is free to download and free to use. Offlimit Pro is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase.
What is free, and what Pro adds
Without any purchase you can track up to three limits and use the entire core product: streaks, earned freeze tokens, honest day-offs, logged overrides, full history, iCloud backup and restore, manual export and import, the app-wide streak widget, and the accountability contact. Offlimit Pro raises the tracked-limit ceiling to ten, adds the per-limit status widget, and allows a separate weekend budget on a limit.
Not a subscription
Offlimit Pro is bought once. It is not a subscription, it does not auto-renew, it has no trial period, and no recurring charge of any kind is created by buying it. There is nothing to cancel.
Price
The price displayed inside the App, in your local currency, at the moment of purchase is the authoritative price, and it is the price Apple will charge. We may change the price of Offlimit Pro for future purchasers at any time; a price change never results in an additional charge to anyone who has already bought it.
Apple processes the purchase
Apple is the seller and merchant of record for Offlimit Pro. The transaction, your payment method, billing, applicable taxes, and your receipt are all handled by Apple under your Apple Account and are governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. We never receive or see your payment details or Apple Account information.
Restoring your purchase
Because the purchase is tied to your Apple Account rather than to an account with us, it can be restored on any device signed into that Apple Account using "Restore Purchase" in the App's Settings or on the Offlimit Pro screen. Where Apple makes Family Sharing available for this purchase, members of your Family Sharing group may also use it.
Refunds
Only Apple can issue a refund for an in-app purchase. We have no ability to process, approve, or deny one, because we never receive the payment. To request a refund, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. Refund decisions are Apple's alone and are governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. If something is not working as described, please email us first — we would rather fix it, and we are happy to help you with an Apple refund request if that is what you want.
If a purchase is refunded, revoked, or removed from your Apple Account by Apple, the Pro features will re-lock the next time the App checks with Apple. Your existing limits, streaks and history are not deleted, and any weekend budget you had already configured remains visible and editable so you are never left with a limit enforcing a number you cannot see or change.
Existing users
Installations that predate the introduction of Offlimit Pro retain all of its features permanently at no charge. This is a commitment we intend to keep, and it is implemented in the App itself rather than being something you must claim; nothing you had before the paid tier existed is taken away by an update.
What Pro does not include
Freeze tokens are earned by maintaining a streak and are never sold. No amount of money buys additional freeze tokens, a faster earn rate, or any change to how streaks are calculated. We make no promise that features added in future versions of the App will be included in Offlimit Pro, or that they will be free; Pro entitles you to the features described above.
No Guarantee of Enforcement
Offlimit relies entirely on Apple's Screen Time system frameworks to detect usage and display blocking screens. These frameworks are controlled by Apple, not by us, and are subject to known platform limitations — including delayed or duplicate monitoring callbacks, threshold-based rather than continuous measurement, and permission states that can be revoked outside the App. We do not guarantee that a limit will always be enforced exactly on schedule, that a shield will always appear, or that streak calculations will be free of error.
Offlimit is a self-discipline aid, not a technical guarantee that you will be prevented from using a limited app. This is true of the free and paid tiers equally; purchasing Offlimit Pro does not buy a guarantee of enforcement.
Streaks, Freeze Tokens, Day-Offs & Wagers
Streaks, freeze tokens, day-offs, override allowances, and any wager or commitment features in the App are motivational tools with no real-world monetary value. They are not currency, are not redeemable for cash or any compensation, are not transferable, cannot be purchased, and create no financial obligation between you and us or between you and any other person. No wager or commitment feature in the App involves staking, transferring, or risking money.
Streak and history data is stored locally on your device and, if you enable it, synced through your own iCloud account. It may be lost if the App is deleted, the device is reset or lost, or iCloud sync is unavailable, unless you have made a manual backup.
The Accountability Contact
If you choose to use the optional accountability feature, you enter a contact name and phone number, and the App offers to open a pre-filled message for you to review and send yourself. You are responsible for having that person's knowledge and consent before entering their phone number, and for the content of anything you choose to send. The App never sends a message automatically or on your behalf, and nothing passes through our systems. Standard messaging rates from your carrier apply.
Backups
The App lets you export and import a manual backup file of your data. You are responsible for creating, storing, and safeguarding your own backup files, and for who you share them with. We have no access to these files unless you choose to send one to us, and we are not responsible for data loss resulting from a lost, corrupted, or outdated backup. Screen Time app selections cannot be transferred between devices for platform reasons, so a restore on a new device will require you to re-pick your apps.
No Health or Medical Advice
Offlimit is a general wellness and productivity tool. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or psychological condition, including behavioral or technology addiction, and does not constitute medical or mental-health advice. If you have concerns about your relationship with technology or screen use, please consult a qualified professional.
App Store and Apple's Role
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use of it is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. As required by Apple, you acknowledge and agree that:
- These Terms are between you and Hrdlicka Apps only. Apple is not a party to them.
- Hrdlicka Apps is solely responsible for the App and its content, and for providing any maintenance and support services for it. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are the sole responsibility of Hrdlicka Apps.
- Hrdlicka Apps, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Hrdlicka Apps, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Intellectual Property
All content in Offlimit — including but not limited to the app design, graphics, sounds, code, and streak, freeze-token and wager systems — is owned by Hrdlicka Apps and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App. Purchasing Offlimit Pro grants you a license to use additional features, not ownership of any part of the App.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs, or that Screen Time limits, shields, notifications, widgets, iCloud sync, or streak tracking will function without interruption or delay.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hrdlicka Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App — including damages resulting from a limit not being enforced, a shield not appearing, a streak being lost, data not syncing or being backed up, or a purchase not restoring — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims relating to the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid to Apple for the App and its in-app purchases in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) ten U.S. dollars ($10.00).
Your Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. In particular, if you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Australia, you retain any statutory guarantee, conformity, or withdrawal right you have under local law, and the disclaimers and liability limits above apply only to the extent that law permits. Where the App or an in-app purchase is sold to you by Apple, some of those rights are exercised against Apple as the seller.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Iowa, except where mandatory local law entitles you as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
Compliance with Laws and Export Control
You agree to use Offlimit only in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those of the United States and of the country in which you reside. You represent and warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hrdlicka Apps and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, your use of the accountability feature without the contact's consent, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of a third party.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern or dispute, you agree to first try to resolve it informally by contacting us at support@hrdlickaapps.com. Most issues can be resolved this way. Refund requests are the exception: those go to Apple, as described above, because we cannot process them.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and Hrdlicka Apps agree that it will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding.
This arbitration and class-action-waiver provision does not apply to residents of the European Union or the United Kingdom. If you reside in the EU or UK, disputes will instead be resolved in the courts of your country of residence, consistent with applicable local consumer protection law.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hrdlicka Apps regarding Offlimit, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction — for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Termination. These Terms apply until terminated. Your license ends if you delete the App or breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — survive it.
Notice to California Residents
Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California residents are entitled to the following consumer rights notice: the provider of Offlimit is Hrdlicka Apps, Iowa, USA, reachable at support@hrdlickaapps.com. Offlimit is free to download and use, and offers one optional non-consumable in-app purchase, Offlimit Pro, sold by Apple at the price displayed in the App at the time of purchase. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. California residents may reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the change in the App's release notes. Your continued use of the App after any change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
August 13, 2026. Added the Offlimit Pro in-app purchase terms, the license grant, Apple's required end-user license terms, the accountability contact terms, and a statutory consumer rights section. Corrected the California notice and the liability cap, both of which described the App as free of charge with no in-app purchases.
